As a creative person, the last thing you want to do is get bogged down with business, because that's like WORK, and really, I just want to PLAY. And that's what beading is- the chance to sit down, look over your colorful beads, arrange and rearrange them in different combinations, and then end up with a unique object that you created yourself. And hey, you get to wear it afterward. No downside here!
So why did I decide to start a Business doing this, when it's going to cut into my beading time, and it's a lot of work? (I work in an accounting firm-believe me, running a business is way more work than even most business-owners realize).
Well, much as I like working where I do (seriously, despite what you may think
about accountants, it is NEVER boring, and there's always drama), I am also a huge fan of artistic endeavors. And though I exercise creativity everyday in the office, you can't drape a wonderfully-written letter to the IRS artfully around you like a scarf. Well, actually, I suppose you can, as a commentary on how a huge government entity can get lost in its own bureaucracy and choke the life out of you (whew!)
Anyway, I've been encouraged by many to do this, but it's only lately I've felt like this is something I HAVE to do. So here, in one place, you will find my beadwork- the inspired work of many a late night, or a request from a friend, or a magazine article, or the spark of an idea that just came forth.
